Taxes: none, i'm under the limit (poverty line)
Health insurance: none, they pay me an allowance equal to the local
PICC insurance, if i provide proof of expat insurance
Pension: none, when old, they set FT's adrift on an ice floe
Nothing is deducted. i get the full amount as stated in the contract. |

Tax process can be found online.
The threshold is 4800 RMB per month. That is tax free, you pay on amounts over that each month. |

Yep, it starts at 4800. Make sure to ask whether a school is listing a salary before or after tax. On something like 10,000, the tax makes a big difference. |

What is the approximate rate on earnings above 4,800 RMB?
What would a salary of say 20,000 RMB look like after taxes? |

That's about 23% of the 15,000 over the untaxed 4,800 RMB.
Is that on a sliding scale, or does that rate apply to all earnings over 4,800 RMB?
Quite a hefty deduction. |

There is a tax rate that depends on the amount of the income over 4800, which I'm pretty sure would be 20% on 20k, then there is a flat deduction. I'm no expert though. |
