Hello,
I am intrigued with the idea of teaching English abroad. I will be visiting Bangkok and Phuket on vacation from May 10-18 and was wondering if someone would be willing to allow me to observe their lesson.
Thank you. |

If you have access to YouTube you can watch lessons online. Just something to do in the meantime... |

Thanks for the idea. I will look online for lessons but also thought since I will be in Thailand for a vacation what better way to see what it is like. I actually hadn't ever heard of this kind of work, but while researching my vacation I came across it.
I am in the southwest USA and dream of days near the ocean with a little bit of adventure mixed in. Thanks again. |

Unless you know someone in Thailand it might be kind of difficult to find someone to observe. Or are you trying to find someone on this message board to observe?
I think it would be increasingly difficult if you wanted to observe a lesson being taught to children. The schools might not let a random person into the classroom to watch a lesson. Would you want a tourist from Thailand sitting in on your student's class?
Just some thoughts. |

Just a side note just in case - there are a lot of 'teach english in Thailand' ads that I have seen where you actually end up paying to teach. These 'voluntourism' gigs are no good so stay away You should not have to pay to teach!
I say this only because you said that you were new to the wonderful world of ESL and would hate to see you be taken advantage of |

You are aware that schools will still be on vacation when you are here. (Most will start to go back about the same time as your departure.
