Hoping to move to Gdansk in September. Anyone recommend good language schools who pay well?

Several good schools. None pay well. This is Poland. How much do you expect to earn a month?

Hi there

3000 PLN after tax per moth would be great... but if you could send me any good schools in the Tri-City area that would be great.

Well, a polish native teacher told us that she got a job for 100 hours per month at 30zl/per hour after tax. She said that I should be able to get more hours as a native speaker.

Anything more than this would obviously great. We were told that if my wife and I are both earning this kind of money we could survive in Poland.
Or do you definitely need more?

Thanks

If you and your wife can take home 6000zl a month, you'll live quite well in Poland. And 30zl an hour is less than what you should be looking for.

True, this.

But just wait - I'm sure any second now someone will come swooping in to this forum to say that 6000 a month for two is 'third world poverty' and you 'couldn't even afford a steak dinner and a jacket for 6k'!

I'm not going there.
But I can't resist the 'decent English' title of the thread.
Means students and teachers are not allowed to address cursewords or dodgy topics? I've a mental image of Victoriana in the language classroom..... (sorry, irrelevant, but semantics - I'm a language teacher, after all!)

Thank you for your replies.

@spiral78: I know what you mean about the "decent English". Laughing
Was just slightly worried to apply for some really dodgy school.

The same person will no doubt claim that it'll be impossible to live because it won't allow you to drink the most expensive cocktails in the most expensive hotel bars or to dine every night in the most expensive restaurants in the city!

Because, you know, ESL teachers should be able to wine and dine in the most luxurious places just because they speak English.
