I'm a newbie. Still choosing an org to work with as I don't feel confident directly dealing with the education systems on the mainland - not this first time at least!
I have good references from experienced friends for 2 of 3 placement services, but not for a 3rd, and that one, naturally, is the one I'm most interested in (because it can get me to Yunnan).
SO, can anyone of you veterans out there comment on edcomasia.com/ ?
It would truly be appreciated!

I am a newbie myself, and I inquired with edcomasia, but I did not end up taking a job from them. I spoke with the recruiter named Andrew, and he was very nice. I had another job offer which I ended up taking before he got back to me. I told him to keep me in mind for next year. I think this company seemed legit. I took a job with expertise education, and they also seem quite legit. But, like I said, I'm also a newbie, so I can't say either way. I will just have to go and find out. |

.... appears to now have another and/or alternative address: edcomchina.com.
I'm the bloke who posted the inquiry in '10. Here's a modest update.
I did not take the job offered then, but I may use this service this time around. I can tell you that Andrew Barclay is still the contact, and still writes a personable email.
I can also say that he got back to me immediately when I asked if he could find anything for me for 2011-12. I kept in touch via one email over the winter and he either remembered me or keeps decent files (or, yeah, yeah, if you must be cynical, has too little work to do]:-[).
My only puzzle so far is that the list of docs Andrew wants up front includes a letter of reference from someone with both teaching and admin duties. I have not yet secured one. (The Powerful where I'm at now passed this buck around and back to me as if it were radioactive. Dunno why.)
But Andrew didn't let this stop the process. So, I have no complaints yet and no info like the poster who disparaged this recruiter.
