				| Because Ramadan is moving up the federal institutions will be starting the fall semester a week earlier. Here at UAEU, we have received the fall start date of September 11 and the finals week has been pushed back a week - to the last week of January.
I am pretty sure I've read that the academic calendars of the federal institutions will be coordinated in the coming year. If true this will be the same start and completion dates for Zayed and HCT.

So we are starting a week earlier and ending a week later. Hmm. Does that mean a 2 week break in the middle semester (besides the second eid and National Day)?

I've asked around here and nobody seems to have a clue. Any ideas?

				| Interesting that they have a long "winter/fiscal" break that is at an odd time in the semester, but just happens to include Christmas/New Years... while the normal "inter-semester" break, which used to be two weeks is now two days - plus the weekend. I suspect that next year, the first semester will start early enough that these two can merge.
What the heck is a "fiscal" break? Do they make you pay for it? Do they take a "break" from paying your salary?
