Does it mean conforming to certain methods of teaching, etc?

Well, I think the focus on PPP as a basic way of getting people to teach ESL in a practical way is useful. At the same time, the focus on the communicative technique can lead to a certain narrowness when it comes to assessing the performance of trainees. On the whole, however, I do think it worthwhile in terms of giving you some good standards to aspire to. It is up to you to think for yourself later on.
