Has anyone taught at university in San Cristobal de las Casas? Are TEFL positions difficult/easy to find? Any hints? How are the students? Please comment. Thanks! |

I did a quick glance at San Cristobal myself about two years ago and what I gleaned was that the pay was abysmal for the language institutes and there was very little work. I would love to live there as well as it is my favorite city in all of Mexico |

While I was teaching in Oaxaca state I spent a week visiting SCdLC. I liked the city very much and visited a couple of universities to ask about work. I found that while they would have been happy to hire me, the pay was very low, about 40% of what I was earning in Oaxaca. |

Thanks for your replies. Was hoping to hear more positive news as I visited San Cris over the holidays and thought it might be a good place to relocate from Oaxaca. |
