Hi guys, I know this has been asked before, but the answers are rather outdated. So the new school year has started and I wanted to know what the ave salaries are these days esp in Istanbul. My school ave salary is between 3500 and 4000 lira a month for full time teachers.

any updates on average salary these days per hour?
or per month based on the #of hours worked per week?

From what I have heard it's about 17TL to 20TL per hour at the language schools. Not sure if this is true? Can anyone confirm this?

Yeah and on the subject of language schools (aka dershanes) what is the truth about them being closed down in the next two years or so?

The salaries I've been offered in Ankara between July 2011 and August 2013 were no lower than 1200 TL and no higher than 3000 TL.

Regarding the dershanes: it's my understanding that approval to open a new dershane will only be given until the summer of 2014. Who knows what'll happen after that. N.B.: my understanding of 'dershane' is a school that focuses on state exam preparation, for example LYS, ALES, KPDS, KPSS, etc. I don't think this rule will affect language schools per se.
