I've got a questino maybe you guys can help me with.
I recently read somewhere that to apply for a work visa in Japan (that "Specialist in Humanities and International relations one"), you need to send the Japanese government your origional university transcripts.
Not a noterized copy. But the origionals.
Is this true? When I got my second work visa in Japan, I didn't have to show anything like that. For the life of me, I can't remember if I gave NOVA my origional transcripts or no.
Just wondering. Does anyone know if that's true? |

I have never sent my original copies of my degrees to anyone.
I always sent a notarized copy and had no problem.
Ask your future employer if this is ok.
It should be imo. |

Transcripts (records of your grades) are not required by immigration to process your work visa. They wouldn't understand the lingo on such forms anyway unless you got them translated. If anyone wants them, it's usually going to be your employer, and he will probably still need to get them translated to do him any good. "Originals"??? Pay about US$5-15 and you get the official transcripts, which is what they want. They usually come sealed so you can't tamper with them.
As for degrees (that beautifully scripted parchment that simply says you graduated on a certain date), it depends. Some immigration offices accept only the originals, some will take certified copies. |
