|

Hello, I have been offered a teaching post in Sri Lanka and wondered if anybody could offer me any information or advice?
A little about me!
I am female aged 54
I have trinitycert tesol and a degree
I have worked in schools in England in support positions for 11 years and taught a weekly English class to a small group of parents from September 2010 to April 2011.
About the job.
I would be based in Galle or Matara
The schools name is English and More
The salary is 50,000 LKR a month
I have to pay for a room or flat and my own flights
The job would give me good experience but I don't know if the salary would be enough to live on ( I don't expect to be able to save).
I am also wondering if personal safety would be a big issue for a white female?
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I would be grateful for any advice/ideas/comments.
Best wishes
Julie. |

Thank you for the reply and the link.
Since I first posted I have been advised by a teacher in Sri Lanka that the school in question has a bad reputation so I will not be taking the position.
Thank you for taking the time to reply to me.
Best wishes
