OK - how about this in the "what's in a name" department

"Bernalillo County Commissioner Michael Wiener � not to be confused with Rep. Anthony Weiner, who faces calls to resign after mistakenly tweeting a picture of his crotch intended as a direct message � has been cleared of sexual harassment by an independent staff commission. The commission did characterize his comments as �inappropriate,� according to the Albuquerque Journal.

Here�s the gist of the employee complaint:

In Smyer�s complaint, she said Wiener stood in the doorway to her office and said �looking good.� His tone of voice and the way he looked at her made Smyer think he was �talking about her physical appearance,� according to the report.

Wiener maintains he was talking about the office�s decorations and fresh paint. It hadn�t been occupied by anyone previously, he said."

By the way, don't you find the choice of Michael Weiner's pseudonym a bit jejune? I suppose it was either that (i.e. Savage) or Captain Blood.

Michael Savage named himself after an explorer named Charles Savage.

This is not unusual. Randi Rhodes (aka Randi Buten) named herself after a dead rock star.

It's just a stage name.

Are you sure about that - his naming himself after the guy who introduced muskets to Fiji and who (according to at least some accounts) became a cannibal?

I think he might have chosen it because of this:

although he wouldn't be "Doc Savage," of course since his PhD (in the field of Nutritional Ethnomedicine) has the name Michael Weiner on it.

But I guess maybe you're right:

I especially like the part in bold, Too bad - otherwise I might have gotten to meet him there.
