Has anybody heard or studied online Mandarin with this site?

http://learnchinese.mychineselearning.com/default.html

Yes, I know I live in Taiwan, but I am just having a little trouble learning it here, because they mix it all up with their local dialects. Since my wife's farther has been in a coma for over a week now, and I am spending more time with the family, It has motivated me lately to learn the language.

What's your feelings about the link. Do you have any other recommendations?

Thanks for your feedback.

Hi adogadie,

Are you willing to pay for Mandarin software?

If the answer is yes, I would recommend Rosetta Stone. I have used it and have had a good experience. The only caution is that Rosetta Stone Mandarin teaches mainland Chinese Mandarin including simplified Chinese characters.

Taiwan Chinese language is slightly different. If you want to learn Mandarin to speak with people and understand conversation then Rosetta Stone will be a good help but if you are looking to learn to read and write Chinese characters then it won't be of too much use because of the big differences between simplified and traditional Chinese characters.

I don't have any experience with the website you provided but I would be interested to hear if anybody else has.

Yup - free conversation lesson downloads or pay for the 'full' course.
