I am in need of a person with the ability to find, and show places that are available to rent.

I do search in fact for a "Rental Property Agent"!

Does one know of such a person? One recommendable of course. It is my true goal to find an abode that I can pay a monthly fee for. Preferably in District 7. Preferably near trees.

Craigslist, pound ground, Google some sites.

Honestly, most agents and landlords kind of suck at selling properties. Basics like "make sure it's clean and looks nice before having renters come to look" are lost on the professionals of VN Wink as is the concept of repainting every so often. But, apparently, foreigners will pay high prices for dingy, dirty walls and bathrooms with crap mattresses, so good for the landlords and agents, I guess.

If you find a good one, hang on to it.

Personally, I found my current apartment without any assistance (walked in), and it's one of the few clean, well furnished, well managed, friendlily (I do teach the language!) staffed apartments I've seen in all my searching (has to be about 75+ places by now) in the $500 and under bracket (D1/3/7). Go figure.

There are two agents that seem to keep popping up in D1 and nearby, especially on CL, Jon and Tony. After looking at just about all their <=$500 properties in D1/3, I gave up. Be prepared for a parade of dark, dingy apartments with varying levels and conditions of furniture for $300-450/mo +electric (I assume you can haggle down significantly, but I never saw a place worth haggling over after the 20th place). I guarantee you can find far better places in D1/3 for the same prices if you take your time to look for them, although it can take quite a lot of time indeed.

I also would appreciate it if someone could share (via PM) any solid agents/properties they've come across in the city, in particular D7 (phu my hung in particular).
