|
|
Hello everyone
I have been following the various threads during my application process - especially Glen's - trying to glean an insight into teaching/living in Brunei.
I have an interview this week with MOE and CFBT So any advice on what I should emphasise?
I have PGCE TEFL with QTS and almost 20 years TEFL teaching experience, and a BA Honours Degree in Planning. I am hoping that my degree subject is acceptable as it is an Arts degree.
Also - I currently teach ESL in FE - most of my experience has been in colleges teaching ESL although I also have some IGCSE experience. Is the work mainly general ESL? Do you use standard ESL methodology - games for grammar & vocabulary, speaking and listening skills etc or is the work content based with an emphasis on reading and writing, tests and exams?
Wanderlust - well done for being offered a post! How is it now you have arrived?! How has the orientation been and what is your accommodation like etc? First impressions?
Any advice welcome

Can't help you with the other stuff, but good luck for your interview. That's a job I'll be eyeing off in a few years when I have the requisite experience. |

Emphasis on content based - aiming for passing O level , but the ESL style of activities very necessary to help students be more motivated/ reach for the goal!!
Reading/writing very definitely emphasised. |
