Well, we've got to get started sometime.
I'm anticipating hundreds of pages before the event - maybe even a thread to compete with the Peerless Peeves! 
Everyone's obviously invited to the discussion - nationality not a criteria.
I'll jump start the thread with an initial focus question:
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A GOOD US PRESIDENT?
Sarah Palin (admittedly, not openly a candidate today...but tomorrow - looks like!). On offer: Eighth-Grade Writing Ability (gasp). Worse news: she receives compliments from the media for this!!

When nearly 25,000 of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin's e-mails were released last week, we all were given a (much anticipated) look not only at what she was writing, but how she was writing.
AOL brought in two writing analysts to individually assess the level at which the e-mails were being composed. What they found was impressive. Palin's writing skills appeared to reach an eighth grade level � a score, the analysis explained, that is excellent for a chief executive.

Paul J.J Payack,President of the Global Language Monitor, and 2tor CEO John Jatzman were responsible for the analysis. �She came in as a solid communicator," Payack noted. The e-mails sent via Blackberry were scored at Grade 8.5 level. They also noted there were few "Alaskanisms," or instances of regional slang, in the messages.
Katzman, one of the analysts told AOL, �I'm a centrist Democrat, and would have loved to support my hunch that Ms. Palin is illiterate.� Sorry, Katzman, but based on your evaluation, this doesn't seem to be the case. "She has much more of a disciplined mind than she's given credit for,� Payack said |

Sarah Palin? You might as well put Mickey or Minnie Mouse forward as candidates. They'd have more credibility. I hold John Cain responsible for the rise of the (fake) moose shooter.
EDIT: I see I made a mistake. Must've been thinking of that old story about two brothers... Anyway, yes John McCain.

John McCain killed his own chances of the presidency by 'selecting' Palin. Also killed any future credibility he might have had.
Personally, I'd literally vote for Mickey OR Minnie over Palin. |

| Ron Paul, the only honest choice. He wants to audit Fort Knox and get rid of the Federal Reserve. Fort Knox last had an audit of its gold holdings in 1955. |

Greater percentage of the voters than he got the last time he ran, I believe.
I, too, am an Ayn Rand fan, but I'm a fan of her literature - not political and economic principles that are far too simplistic to address today's extremely complex issues.
It would be tempting to wish that black-and-white soundbites, understandable by most of the American electorate, would really 'straighten things out,' but it's just not realistic. |

You need a strong leader with some good 5-year plans. You already have a one-party system in all but name. You have the flag-waving, the cult of personality, the camps system. Why not go the whole way? Elect a Great Leader with 5-year plans. Like the Great Vozhd in this clip:
