Hey,
Looking into Skopje and it seems to be a really lovely fun city. I'm wondering what kind of work is readily available there, and what normal compensation would be.
I am a US citizen, bachelor's degree, with a CELTA and more than a year of experience doing ESL.
Would University work be achievable, or do they all want Masters? Are there many language institutes that do hourly pay? What about in public schools?
Thanks for any info,
Jacob |

I know that this is an old question, but it might help someone looking for information.
To work at a university, you need an MA. The salary is from around 450 euros to just over 1000 euros, depending on your title (this is for public universities, private ones pay more).
Language schools pay less, 200-400 euros, depending on your location (you can earn the most in Skopje).
The average salary at public schools (elementary and high schools) is around 350-400 euros, but I don't think that they would hire a foreigner. The only Americans that teach at public schools are from the Peace Corps. |
