Hello,
I'm a CELTA holder with a Bachelor's degree, teaching at International House in Colombia. I'm thinking of working here until the end of the year, at which point I will have about 2 year's teaching experience, and then getting a Masters in order to teach in reputable, good paying Universities in China.
There are Masters in TEFL for adults, but I'm thinking of getting a Masters that would also help for finding work in public schools in the USA, ie a K-12 degree.
Is anyone working in Universities in China with such a K-12 Education degree in English? Would there be a definite advantage when applying to University jobs in China in having a Masters TEFL for Adults, or do they simply want to see a Masters in something related to English education?
I know people with Masters in Education here, but they are of the K-12 variety, and they have been successful in finding work in non-University settings, but I don't know anyone actually teaching in a University.
Thanks for the help,
Jacob |

u don't need a masters here, only for international schoools
considering u'd only get an extra 500rmb a month for your masters in a university, why would u spend a fortune on one?
just go to america and do an alternative certification programme
that would be much cheaper than a masters and u'd still get a k12 teaching license |
