Do they have evening classes where Arabic is taught?

I highly doubt this but is it possible to learn it by just living in the country due to the surrounding. I doubt this because the immediate environment will obviously be the english speaking teachers....

Did you say that you will be in Riyadh? I'd guess that there are classes to be found in a larger city. There are usually Islamic Societies that provide classes - good for non-Arab Muslims who especially want to learn to read. You could also look into finding a private tutor.

I found elsewhere in the Gulf that I had no need for what Arabic that I knew from living in Egypt, as even outside of the English speaking environment of the university, all shopping was done in English. As far as daily life, a knowledge of Hindi or Urdu might be more useful than Arabic. Cool
