I need to convert 220v AC (Vietnamese) to a 120v appliance. I've got the prong/plug adapter, just need to find a shop that will have the converter. |

WHAT do you have that needs to be converted??
If it's anything electric / electronic that was purchased in a Western Nation after 2001, it SHOULD have an internal voltage regulator and flow seamlessly between 120v/220v..... |

Get a power strip that has a fuse and try it, if you don't know if there's an internal regulator. |

I have a set of speakers (the subwoofer needs to be plugged in) and a blender. Both just say 120v and nothing about self conversion. I'm just concerned because I did witness my friend fry a bass amp.
I used my old laptop in Asia without a converter and just a plug adapter (it overheated and fried recently, but was used in Korea for 2 years). I suspect that not having a converter helped to kill the battery early and to kill the laptop. |
