I've recently applied to teach Skype classes for a company based out of Moscow. Wondering what other peoples' experience doing this kinda work has been.
For a globe-hopping English teacher it seems like a great supplementary job, a way to help make ends meet while beginning the process of setting up shop in a new country.
How have you done with your skype classes? Is it hard because students often can't hear you? I would assume an Elementary class would be impossible over skype, since I often can't understand my friends and family when we skype... |

Are you using a headset with Skype? If not, I highly recommend getting one. It makes a HUGE difference. I have been giving a few private classes via Internet, not with Skype, but with a different program. It has worked out really well, but the students are intermediate and up. Also, I have found wiht Skype, the quality is vastly improved if you dont use the video option and just use voice. |
