I strongly urge any and all considering employment with Wenzhou University, any of its colleges, to reconsider. Where would I start? Pay. They'll manipulate it for several months. It won't just be way late; you'll have to beg and bang on the door to get it. After a few months of that they'll realize that maybe time is up on the game and start paying on time. Once they've put you in your place a little and had their power trip on your esteem and realize that may lose a teacher mid-semester, heck, they start paying on time.

How about your airfare at the end of year? Don't count on it. They'll likely find any excuse not to pay it to you.

Does the university have a very high turnover rate with foreign teachers there? Yes, absolutely. You're a pawn in their game. I met one teacher who was on his second year but was hired and paid through the US government.

I'm telling you the way it is so others can avoid a place that needs to treat its foreign staff a lot better if it intends to hire people from overseas.
