Hello,

I am coming over to Japan and will be working in an eikaiwa school in the near future. I wonder if I am required to have my university certificate apostilled.

I've searched around and found a link to the immigration department of Japan and I think i should be under the type of residence whcih is 'instructor'. Yet, the table gives us only 4 sentences describing the type of documents we may need to produce, without expliciting going deep like telling you what documents exactly you need to provide (as bottom)
http://www.immi-moj.go.jp/english/tetuduki/kanri/shyorui/Table3-1.html

Could someone could tell me if I have to produce an apostilled university certificate, or simply a university certificate will do?

THanks a lot!

It doesn't need an Apostille attached to it. Just a certified copy or original is fine. If in doubt, ask the Consular office where it will be submitted what they want in particular, not people here.

But it's not going to be submitted to a local consulate; it's going to be submitted to immigration in Japan, right?

Ah, for the COE, right? Yes, you're correct then. Still doesn't need an Apostille. Smile
