Hi there. First, warm thanks to all who responded to my query a few weeks ago. Much appreciated. My question today is quite simple. I'm wondering how much the "prestige" of the university where I'm going to do my MATESOL will affect my getting hired in the Gulf. I'm planning to go to University of Texas Pan American to do an on campus MATESOL in Fall. This is certainly an accredited university etc, its a perfectly good state school, but not a very famous or well known one. Not exactly Cambridge. Should I be concerned about this? Thank you so much. |

It doesn't make any difference. As long as it is accredited in the US, the major benefit for you is that since it is on campus, it will be recognized by all Middle East Ministries of Education. There are employers and countries that don't like online credentials.
VS
(very few people with degrees from "famous universities" end up in TEFL doing the expat scene...) |
