Hello all,
My FM3 (now called no immigrante) needs to be renewed soon. I have been reading that it is a pretty easy process, but I just have a couple quick questions? Most info seems to be coming from people who are not working in mexico, so they need bank statements and so on....
First of all my information. I received my first FM3 last year (so this is my first renewal) and it is the id card not the book.
If you could give me the basic outline and what papers are needed it would be much appreciated!
Thanks from QRO!

Youre probably better off going to the office where you live and asking for a list of what you need. Even though it seems like it shouldnt be different, based on what Ive seen here what is asked for varies a little from place to place. |

I agree with the Beagle's advice. Here in Mexico City things are pretty straightforward at the INM office, but whenever I've gone there to renew my visa, there's always some piece of paper (sometimes even two or three) not mentioned on the INM website that I need to complete the trmites. |

Is the first step to go onto the INM website and complete the page where you choose to make your stay longer and print this out to take to the office?
Also in terms of taxes can i just take the pay stubs from the 8university that showed I paid taxes?
Thanks again,

Yes, now the first step is to fill out the form you mention and print it out. Since I work independently, I pay my taxes every month (lucky me!) at the bank and get a receipt. INM wants to see the most recent proof-of-payment as evidence I've been paying my taxes. In your case, it seems like pay stubs would do the trick, but who knows for sure? |

Best thing to do is to phone them up and ask if your Spanish is ok. If not get a friend to do it for you. That way you avoid going down there and wasting a day waiting in line. |
