Hangzhou, because it is the only one I've heard of. |

Miajiayou,
Thanks for the reply. What do you like and dislike about Hangzhou? |

Ewww-wu (Yiwu) is a dirty little city from all I remember. I taught a summer camp there once and also returned with a friend to scour their many warehouses of soon-to-be exported goods (or maybe they were the cast-offs, I don't remember) and I can't think of any redeeming qualities about this city.
Hangzhou is modern and big and, last I was there, the traffic was getting out of control. A visit to the West Lake is always nice - - but it's nice for the other thousands of people who are walking about as well. I know they are building a subway and it may be finished or close to finished by now.
I don't know Jinhua, but if I had to vote for the above two, I'd definitely go for Hangzhou over Yiwu. |

[tongue in cheek]
Yiwu is the jewel of Asia with it's many finely crafted fabrics and outerwear for people of all ages. They are prestigious and even hold summer camps with foreigners. These are just some of the many redeeming qualities of Yiwu.
[tongue back out]
The following is not directed to anyone in particular:
Anyone can write good things about any place to prop them, but if people write a testimonial about a place that they personally have been to then I will tend to believe them as they have no interest one way or the other if you go there or not.
I would also swing towards Hangzhou. |

I have had many students from Hangzhou while living in Shanghai. They always seem most eager to return to Hangzhou.
It is the only place I have been of the cities you mentioned. If I were going to China and it was my first experience to go, I might lean towards Hangzhou.
If said person going to China were interested in some kind of business opportunity related to importing/export I might think Yiwu is a good choice.
It really depends on what you want and what you are looking for. Of the three, having only been to Hangzhou, I think Hangzhou would be the more comfortable place for enjoying life at least for me. |
