Some advice folks-
-Make sure the original CRB check is stamped and signed by the issuer. This may seem dumb to state, but they now use bar codes unless stamps are specifically demanded
-The FCO will only attest a stamped CRB original, which must also first be attested by a solicitor. No solicitor will attest the CRB check if it doesn't have the original issuer's stamp.
-Getting things done by the FCO takes much longer than is stated on their website and ends up being quite costly.
-As of March 2011, you cannot go to the FCO Legalisation Department in person, so everything is done by post.
-The FCO website isn't altogether clear.
It's basically a right royal pain in the arse. |
