Hello to all. Taiwan looks for intriqing to me as a possible Esl teaching destintion. Taught in Korea and China and now I'm looking to move on to Taiwan. Basically I'm looking for good websites about Expat life in (New) Taipei, to get me started. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

I cannot recommend a website but I can answer any questions you have. I live in New Taipei formerly Taipei County. |

I'm just looking for some basic questions about Taipei City; What is the avg monthly rental for a studio or one bedroom apt around 35-40sm?, Where do the expats hang out?, Are there any western style dept. stores (Costco, Walmart, Tedesco, etc.)?, opening and closing times for the Taipei metro?, Private academy vs. Public School?, Primary vs. Middle vs. High school? vs. University?, Private tutoring opportunities etc. Thanks for any feedback. |

Sorry I don't know how big 35-40sm is. They use ping as a measurement in Taiwan.
You can get a studio in Taipei County starting at 8,000NT a month. If you want a luxury apartment you are talking 20,000-30,000 NT a month. |

You cannot work in a public school unless you are a certified teacher in your home country,. |
