If you come to Taiwan, you are your own. Good luck!

But you can meet people at pubs where Westerners go. If you go to an all Taiwanese pub, you might get hit on several times.

The going rate is around 7,00NT an hour outside Taipei, but you might not make as much as 6,00NT per hour. They asked and you answer with the highest that you can think of then work your way down from there. Good luck again!

Sorry about the typos.

Before I edited it, there was only one line of information, so later on I edited in more information. That's all. Nothing bad. Just information. Wink

That's great, JZer! There is still massive demand for "Special K" also. You see it on the news almost everyday, especially in Taichung.

creztor, please clarify for me: Are you talking about "Special K", Special "K", or "Special" K?

Thanks.

Ya just know this whole thread is going to be deleted.

Apologies, Zoidberg, I was talking about Special K. This has been the most upbeat thread in the Taiwan section in ages!

I'm planning to arrive in Taiwan this October. I have one school I'm kinda looking at, but I just wanted to confirm with everyone: It's okay to just fly into town and job hunt?

The idea of arriving in a foreign place with no contacts or experience and searching like crazy for a job is...."sketchy" in my mind, but is it what people really do?

I'm in need of lots of advice!
