Anyone have any information on TQ Education and Training Ltd?
They posted a couple of ads at tefl.com for KSA, but the one that interested me was an ad they posted for Basra, Iraq. I checked today, and they pulled the ad after only 6 days.
It included an ususal schedule...rotational, 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off.
It also mentioned a "highly competitive salary to reflect the nature of the environment."

Could it be related to that TQLS in Kuwait... the one with the terrible reputation? A rather close geographic proximity...

TQ Education and Training is a provider of outsourced training requirements to the UK defence sector and other public sector organisations.
The infamous TQLS is a subsidiary!
However, you can check them out at :

Thanks for that revelation, Dedicated. The link doesn't seem to work, though. I get "page can't be found."
Yeah, VS, I guess we've discovered a red flag here: TQ+LS=???.
Too bad; I think a rotation schedule would be kinda nice.
Strange how their Basra ad disappeared so quickly.

Middle East Beast,
Sorry if the TQ link disappeared before you could get to it. It was definitely there, but they must have been inundated with applications (??).
You could try to write via :[email protected] or

Good luck! |

I found out what happened to the TQ ad for Basra, Iraq.
They actually changed the ad while it was still posted...they changed the location to KSA and other important details as well. They didn't replace the ad, they changed it with no notice or explanation.
That doesn't say much for TQ.
So, while I applied for Basra, I guess I've now applied for KSA...just shoot me!

That's a first. Especially considering their long history of teacher abuse. But, they have extensive experience in hiring. They tend to hire/fire repeatedly each year with many of them hardly teaching a class it seems.
Good Luck! I do know a few people who were able to use their time there to find a better job once in Kuwait.

Hate to say this but they weren't too great in Libya - as a couple of examples - staff were told not to make friends with the students or Libyans in general as they were all dangerous (a lie - the ones I met were (and still are lovely), a senior member of the management team was made redundant over his xmas break and only found out when he'd got back to the UK to find a letter waiting on his door mat........ staff didn't know if they'd be gettng back for planned xmas holidays - 1 person only got his visa through an hour before he had to be at the aiport (and management couldn't give a monkeys! |
