Hi all,

Newbie here and I'm sorry for another chances post.

Quals:

BA Sociology
2 years full time teaching (private school therefore no license)
EFL experience teaching during study abroad in London (taught English to Brazilian and Afghan girls for about 2 months for a non profit org)
CELTA (expected to complete in September)
US citizen

I'm a 23 year old female looking to switch gears and teach something interesting in Saudi.

Am I crazy? Will Saudi hire a 23 year old female (single) and with just a BA?

Don't put your resume out until you have your CELTA in hand. But if your experience is good, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get a position.

ooo too late. I replied to quite a few places but let them know that I'd have my CELTA by the end of Sept. Most recruiters said they'd keep me in mind and to contact them as soon as I get my CELTA. Hope I didn't screw my chances/contacts

No I don't think so.

It is just that "future" certs/degrees are never considered. So it gets you an immediate rejection letter if such are required. Wait and reapply once everything is official and you have your documents to prove it.

Teachers are always being hired even after September. Reapply after you get your certificate.
