Hi there,
I have just gotten off the phone with my old uni lecturer (Nottingham Trent) from when I studied my BA in TESOL and CELTA and she told me that if you have the MA the British Council have said you only need module 2 of the DELTA.
Has anyone else heard this?
Interesting! |

I'd also like to know if this is true. It would have some sense as with an MA you surely cover a lot more material than the DELTA modules. |

I assume you are talking about TEFLQ status?
For TEFLQ, you need a level 7 qualification (English QCF) in TESOL or related field with 5 hours teaching practice assessed by a suitably competence teacher. This is likely where you got the "DELTA Module 2" idea from.
Teachers with PGCEs/PGDEs in ESOL are also considered TEFLQ. |

I'd like to know about this as well. From what I understand, you don't NEED to take two of the modules, just the exam. And that's for anyone, not just those with an MA. There's only one module that you definitely have to take, the teaching practice one I believe. |
