Hello
Looking for a bit of advice.
35 Female
HND in Computer Science
B.Ed in Secondary ICT
QTS
4 years of teaching experience, ICT and Computing
Currently studying a JAVA module with the Open University
The plan is to move out, have a few weeks of holiday complete a 4 week CELTA and then after that I will be job seeking. Ideally I'm thinking of international schools or universities.
Any words of wisdom much appreciated |

With QTS you won't need a CELTA, particularly in international schools.
The hiring season is pretty much over for these schools so this is not an ideal time of year.
It is also best to be recruited from your home country as you will receive substantially better benefits and salary.
Have you looked at www.tes.co.uk or Eteach?
Google 'job fairs' as well as a lot of recruiting is done from these. |

Thanks for the reply Whisper
The thinking behind the CELTA was just incase it goes horribly wrong and I decide to return to England.
Language schools in England prefer you to have a CELTA even if you have QTS. |

Fair enough...........although I would have thought a DELTA would be preferable for the UK?
Mind you, it's been years since I've been back home. Probably wouldn't recognise the UK now. |
