I'm in Muscat. I want to change them to Benjamins or Elizabeths.

I'm looking for somewhere that can give me a good rate for 3000 rials. I mean, do all the banks give the same rate? Are there any money changers that give better deals than the banks? Do I need to make an appointment?

We've been to several over the years - best we found so far is Abu Mehad Money Exchange P O Box:1559, P. C: 114, Sabco Centre, Qurum 24714149. We never use banks. Bad rates. Nice site for checking market rates (which will not match local exchange rates due to fees) is http://www.xe.com/ucc/.
