Hi, I'm an native English teacher (EU passport, university degree, CELTA and nearly three years experience in Eastern Europe and a few months in Switzerland) thinking of moving to Barcelona, probably in about 12 months time. Obviously that's too far ahead to be actively applying for positions, but I would just like to ask if anybody has any positive or negative experiences to share, particularly regarding specific schools; is there anywhere that you would strongly recommend, or anywhere you would discourage someone from working? I'm slightly overwhelmed by the sheer number of language schools in Barcelona so if I could find some way of narrowing the choice down, that would be very much appreciated.

Also, if anybody would have any idea of what kind of salary I should expect given my experience and qualifications, that would also be very useful. Obviously just a basic ballpark figure would help a great deal.

Hi Ritchie,

When you say you were overwhelmed by the sheer number of language schools in Barcelona, how did you find so many schools?

Were you in Barcelona looking around, or did you find these schools on a website?

Sorry I'm not of more help, I'm also considering a move to Spain and always on the lookout for helpful info.
