|
Dear Friends,
Has anyone worked at - Saudi INTERLINK Language Centers
Al Yamamah University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia?
1) How are the employers? Do they deliver what they promise?
2) How are visa conditions? Do you need to be aware of any catches?
3) Do you need a exit visa? I read on the forum for some employers you need the exit visa in order to terminate the contract or for early departure
Is is safe for a western spouse to join her husband?
What is the level of freedom available to western women with regard to shopping, doing out of house chores etc?
Are there any good English medium Primary schools?
Are they affordable and offer high standard education?
Your comments and feedback will be greatly appreciated, especially about the employer and the way they conduct the business.
Warm regards

Do a search and you'll find that the answer to this is always a resounding yes. You always need an exit visa to leave Saudi Arabia for any reason. You can never leave Saudi Arabia once you're in there unless they give you permission with an exit visa.
It doesn't have anything to do with your employer...it's Saudi law.

Yes, but isn't it your employer who goes to the proper Ministry to get the exit visa for you? From what I have read here, this is the step that many employers have used to block the exit of teachers when they want to...
As to Al Yamamah and Interlink... have you done a search? There have been a number of threads on them. And I doubt things have changed much in the last year or two. When using the search, but sure to use "search for all terms" to restrict what it brings up.
Life for women is OK in Riyadh as long as she can put up with the restrictions. An abaya should be worn in public. She will be unable to drive. And many women are uncomfortable alone in public as men will both stare and verbally invade your space.

Yes, the employer is your immediate contact for the exit visa, but they are not the reason why you must get an exit visa, nor do employers have the option to exempt you from one. The OP seemed to have the impression that some employers require an exit visa.
I certainly believe that employers can and have blocked people from leaving.

That simple fact is one very valid reason why some people do not have a problem working on Business or Government visas. In order to leave all you need is money and your passport. |
