Hi, I'm thinking of going to Taiwan to look for ESL work, but I'm trying to figure out an apartment or hotel situation for when I first arrive. Since I don't have any friends already living in Taiwan who I can stay with, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any cheap (but yet not uncomfortable) hotels or apartments (or perhaps hostels) in or very very close to Taipei City or Taichung City where they will allow people to rent month to month, and not have to worry about a security deposit.
Ideally, I want to find work first before I find a permanent housing arrangement, so that I can make sure my apartment will be close to wherever it is I find work.
Also, if you know of the prices you know/think would be charged, and a website, e-mail address, and/or phone number to call, that would help tremendously.
-Thanks! |

I don't have exactly the information you want, but a search for hostels+taipei will give you a list of some. There are hotels around which rent rooms by the month (for around 15,000NT). Some are ok, although one I used on Roosevelt Rd (nr Hoping E Rd) had a problem with bedbugs.
If you stay in a hostel for a few days you will hopefully find somewhere better than the place I had. |
