Hi,
Can anyone suggest to me a good brand of voice amplifier or waistband voice amplifier which are now used in classrooms by quite a few teachers....The internet has like a million brands so I was wondering if someone could give me a first hand experience suggestion.....
Thanks

Oh my...this could open up a Comedy Central channel. Do you need it to say a loud "wakey-wakey" to the sleepy-heads? Or do you perform the call to prayer from your classroom? Of course, those pesky syllable-stress lessons can go on for days and students still won't get it. With your amazing new VOICE AMPLIFIER you can AMPLIFY that syllable like never before! Call now and we'll double our offer and you'll get TWO voice amplifiers! Just pay additional shipping and handling. |

What classroom anywhere is so large that one needs an amplifier? A lecture hall, perhaps.....
Or is it on the principle that 'if they don't understand in a normal tone of voice, they will understand if you 'shout'??!!"
I agree with Badar - it's scary |

I'm glad to see that I am not the only one who had never heard of such a thing and couldn't imagine why one would need it...

Might come in handy for "Student Whisperers."

If I got one of those I might break into a Seinfeld bit or something.
At the very least I'd start acting squirrelly.

Yah--so I looked online and saw some customer comments from high-school or elementary teachers who couldn't speak properly and needed the gizmo to make themselves heard...but some were not satisfied with the contraptions. No TEFLer in our ranks would ever be hired if s/he couldn't speak well enough to be heard organically, if you will. |

I was hoping that we didn't scare you away with our confusion about the issue. As you can see, this sort of thing isn't commonly used in the Gulf, so your employer may have an issue with it.
I would certainly bring it up in an interview.

My previous joking aside, I wish you the best with that situation, ZUSHA.
