Anybody living and/or working in Piura and can tell me the good, bad, & ugly about the city?
We'd like to possibly move there in two months and we're starting the apartment research. Can anyone suggest an area/neighborhood to look into? We are a family of 3 needing 3 bedrooms, preferrably in an apartment that's not on the ground floor. A house would be fine too if affordable & safe.
What is grocery & clothes shopping like? Ecuador has MegaMaxi, Super Tia, Coral, and nice malls. Anything in Piura comparable?
And finally, what is the job situation for American non-certified teachers?
Giving up on living in Ecuador ,

Small town, a bit gossipy. Best place to work is UDEP. You might also try ICPNA.
Shopping is ok, there's a market, little shops, as well as grocery stores.
Job situation with a degree, good, go to UDEP. Without a degree, you'll be making about 5 bucks an hour. |
