Hello,
I was wondering why there isn't an Armenia forum, and whether there are any jobs in Armenia or not. I have known a few Armenian people and they were very wonderful people, in California and a girlfriend of a friend here in Marburg. I would be interested in teaching in Armenia if there is a job there.
Anyone here teaching there? Should one use the Turkey forum. I heard there are no roads from Turkey to Armenia anymore, or flights, that's how well these two nations are getting along! |

Hi tortoise,
I have been in Armenia several years now.
The border with Turkey is closed as is the border to the east with Azerbaijan. I can only exit on land through Georgia to the north as Iran is not an option for an American.
Not getting along is an understatement. There is a very bad history between the two countries including a genocide in which Armenia lost about a third of their population.
If you get any information from the Turkish forum take it with a grain of salt unless it is coming from first hand experience. I don't say this to discredit individuals in Turkey I say it because propaganda, misinformation and flat out lies are rampant in Turkey in regards to Armenia. To be fair, the same argument could be made of Armenia in regards to Turkey.
That said... There are jobs here. What are you looking for exactly? What is your background/experience? |
