Hi
There is a job ad out there for a new school - IH Doha.
The director is W Talebaoui (MOD edit). No DoS listed.
Views from previous Doha teachers would be gretly appreciated.
Thanks

If it's a brand new school, it's unlikely there will be anyone who has any experience working there. I've never heard of it and I worked in Qatar for 10 years or so. |

IH schools usually pay bargain basement wages. |

Everytime I come back to Doha I hear about yet another new expat school. There are dozens of them now when once upon a time there were a handful. Most pay low wages and some oblige people to share.
Check them out carefully. |

Nice new premises out in Duhail. They are busy getting corporate contracts. |

I can't imagine why you would even need any other information than this to cross this one off the list.
Basically speaking, I would avoid ALL of these language schools in the Gulf. They pay VERY low - with minimal benefits , have long hours with split shifts, and almost never do foreign hires. They hire local spouses that already have residence visas as they don't provide work visas.
If you are interested in teaching in an Arabic speaking country and don't have the credentials to get a normal position, I would suggest Morocco. Look at AMIDEAST or the American Language Center or the British Council. They occasionally do foreign hires or you can just go there and knock on doors.
