Hi,

I am interested in moving out to Antalya, Turkey and landing a teaching job over there. I am pretty much qualified. I was wondering if there is anyone that teaches or has taught over there. Can you tell me how easy it is to find a position? The living conditions/costs, such as accomodation, food, internet, etc? Thanks.

Hi
Added to Callie's advice, you should bear in mind that the private schools hired back in May. That doesn't mean that people won't drop out or that there aren't unfilled vacancies: try calling Ted, Antalya, Istek or Toros (a religious school) to start with. I think wages start around 2,000 tl a month. I've been told Antalya Koleji offers less per month but it does have housing
If you're looking for language school work (from 12-15tl an hour) or private lessons (on average 50-60 tl an hour), if you put in the effort, you will probably find enough hours after a couple of months
Just to give you an idea of costs, a flat-unfurnished-in the center of town can start at 500tl a month. The cost of living is quite similar to other Turkish cities (cheaper than Istanbul in some respects, eg rent). For the other costs, you should check out the web sites Callie posted
Hope that's some help
