Hello everyone,

I have read the posts but I didn't really find what I was looking for. I am not worried about managment because it seems that most places in the kingdom change things every hour. I am not worried about the visa either.

So, could someone enlighten me about facilities the university has?? For example if I have a 1-3 month infant does the university have a nursey I can put my child in?? I know that in the university of Ha'il they did.

Thank you very much

Here is a post about PNU and if you go back month or two you may find other posts.

http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=90967

Another option maybe "live in nuny" if you can find such a reliable person but, I have to say, i don't know anything about this nor have info so don't assume its easy(This place is hard for singles let alone mother with infant).

Hopefully others will have more direct info/knowledge

At the very least, this is useful, neutral, information!

Here's another thread: http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?p=964744&highlight=#964744

It's the very least someone with an infant could ask for...other than advising non-descript "medicines" for a child!

What I find odd is that PNU has, in the last month or two, offered positions to 3 women with new infants??? Is this a new job requirement at this employer? Laughing All I can say is that I am glad that I am not teaching there to have to be covering classes for the inevitable problem of "I can't come to work today..." because the baby is ill... had a doctor's appt... whatever. I've worked in departments where this got old really really fast...

Well I am glad that I am not that type of person Very Happy It is possible to make a doctor's appt. after working hours.

I was only asking if they had some kind of child care services in case I might not have a babysitter.

Bloody hell V.S. that's a bit rude!

When I was in KSA come Saturday morn half my esteemed unmarried male colleagues were either too hungover to be of any use or still stuck in Bahrain.

You're not one of those old biddies that insists on family accommodation to house your cats are you? Children, seen but not heard, is that it?

While I'll defend your right to remain single and childless please cut us who've chosen the other path a bit of slack.

Shocked

Thank you all again. We must all keep in mind that these forms are here to help each other out regardless of how many posts a person might have posted.

Dear VS and MEB I couldnt agree with you more.

Not only I had to pull the weight for the no-show in more than one instance but I also had to prepare classes and do my work with kids running around yelling and screaming at the staff room.

Respectful, considerate colleagues shouldnt put others through that, there is no need for it.

I am sorry to be rude, however this is why the MOD starts deleting posts. Maybe some of you had a bad experience dealing with inconsiderate teachers; however, not all teachers are the same, so just keep that inmind. I have been called to cover a class an hour before a class started. I had to teach the class without any type of information about the class and where the other teacher left off (and she didn't write were she left off either.) So when I am posting asking for the advice of the "more experienced and "wiser" members of this website- it is because I want to be mindful and considerate of how it makes other people feel when you are called the last min.

So, since the first question was not answered but other non-existent questions were answered, I would like to give a warm thank you for sharing your 2 cents. Rolling Eyes

Regards,
