Hi!
My employer agreed to pay for a health and life insurance policy, but it is up to me to find it. I will be primarily based in Northern China, but will also be spending time in Malaysia and would like to keep a policy current in the United States as well. I guess this qualifies me for a worldwide health insurance plan!
Does anyone have any recommendations for international health and life insurance plans?

If you have not already done so, get your employer to agree to an amount they are happy to pay, and get it in writing in the contract.
They may be expecting you to pop down to your local PICC in China and pay 1,000 or 2,000 RMB for some Chinese plan. If you show up with an foreign receipt for a comprehensive international plan worth $2,000, they might not be amused.
When things like this are left up to you, make sure the contract is as clear as possible about payments and refunds and what you need to get them. |
