				| Hi, Does anyone know if social security contributions in Turkey, paid for by the school, covers health and pensions or just health. Can foreigners join the penion scheme or is it just for nationals?

 Thanks

				| This is only an anecdote. so take it with a grain of salt.
I worked with an older Irish teacher during my time in Istanbul and he received a pension from the UK and Turkey. As far as I know you should be able to receive a pension. He wasn't a Turkish citizen.

				| It makes no difference if you are a Turkish citizen or not, there are a number of long-serving teachers in Izmir who receive a pension from this country each month and if they have pension credits back home they will be entitled to them at the appropriate age. There is ın fact reciporial arrangements between Turkey and other countries regarding the payment of pension benefits. | |
