In the new year I plan to move to Macau China. I would like to teach English but I don't have a degree. I am planing to do a TESOL course but due to work commitments I will have to do it from home and on the internet. I was thinking of going with 'Global English.com' and was wondering if anyone had heard of or used them before? Also I would like to know if a TESOL would be enough without a degree?
Many thanks to anyone who can help.

You won't get a work visa/residence permit either.
You will be running back and forth to HK every 30 days.
The best paying language academy is up near the McDs at the north end of the city but even they don't pay very well.
You'd be more likely to find a job across the river (on the mainland) and go to Macau on the weekends.

A friend of mine lived in Macau for three years, 06 to 09: It's not China. China may think it's CHina, like taiwan and HK, but visa reqs, language, money, etc are different. Many peopel go to Macau to gamble. I'm not sure about teaching jobs, but I think tttompatz is right, you're better off going a bit up north to Shenzhen or Guangzhou. |
