I'm currently in Canada, having just taught a year in Korea (elementary), about to take the CELTA, and have a BA degree. With these qualifications and experience, briefly, what are my chances finding work (average/decent-paying entry level teaching to elementary, high school or adults), comparatively, in Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand given their current respective ESL markets? As well, I'm aware that appearance does matter while searching for employment in Asia, and for that I'm a 23-year old male Canadian-born Chinese speaking perfectly fluent English. My first choice is Taiwan right now, but I know the competition is very tight these days. Vietnam is a close second choice if the prospects are not promising enough in Taiwan, but I'm not very aware of the market in Vietnam. Thailand is dead last, but I definitely have not ruled it out yet and it would be nice to know briefly where it falls in comparison to the other two.
But particularly, I would like for the direction of this thread to have a stronger emphasis on employment opportunities in Taiwan vs. Vietnam. (Also, I have made a post questioning particularly about Taiwan in the Taiwan section, for anybody who knows more about it). Any help is appreciated. |
