First time teaching in China, would appreciate advice on what kind of things to bring, what to be careful about over there, etc. I'm going to be at a university in Nanchang; the school took a long time to send the visa paperwork, and it just arrived today, so I'll be getting there a few weeks into the current term. |

Read through some of the thousands of posts on this forum. You won't need to go too far back, couple of pages maybe, to get answers to almost any question you might have. |

The list of things to watch out for is far too extensive to post in a short amount of time. money issues, culture. food, manners, traffic, communication, transportation, weather, pollution... could go on for days. And it depends on where you go.
I'd follow 7969's words and you should easily be able to find warnings on most things. If you have any specific questions though I'm sure someone here would be helpful enough to answer. |

If you're male, I'd mainly be careful of the women. Marriage, herpes, bad tempers and poor hygiene are some of the main areas of risk. |
