|
|
Hi there,
I'm a 23 years old with Bsc in BIT and I also have completed a Celta course. I have two years experience in teaching English, which was mostly volunteering. I'm looking to relocate to KSA, I'm confident in my teaching ability, I believe I can get on with anyone and as well as adapting to the changes. I'm worried that I might be underestimated or disrespected in terms of my age.
what are the standard for teaching at the university level?
Hope you guys can help me, I'm bit worried about my age.
Thanks in advance,
Jacob |

It's not your age that's the main problem---it's your lack of qualifications. Your unrelated bachelors degree and volunteer TEFL experience won't be enough to get you an entry position, despite having a CELTA and feeling confident about your teaching abilities. I suggest teaching in Asia for 3-5 years before considering KSA. By then, you'll have solid, paid experience under your belt and the maturity to manage living in a restrictive environment. However, it would still put you at entry level and most likely through a recruiter. But I'm just one voice; maybe others on this forum will have different opinions. |
