You might get more responses in the Saudi Arabia forum. |

In case you havent noticed it, theyve lost the contract with Princess Nora University and now is Adwaa group who is recruiting for PNU - another one bites the dust
Adwaa is advertising everywhere looking for a high number of teachers for the new location near the airport in Riyadh. Have you had any contact with them? Do they seem genuine, half way decent or just the usual thing in that area? |

They have their good and bad points. They are pretty typical for a Saudi Arabian contractor. I have heard from my friends who still work there that some things have changed for the better since they got rid of a certain HR employee who was horrible... though other bad people in upper management remain. So... they are about average... possibly getting better... but personally I would never ever work for them again. There are better employers out there, even in Saudi Arabia if you want to go there.
If you do sign with them... go in with low expectations or you will be disappointed. Don't believe anything promised to you before you get there (or after you get there, for that matter, as they enjoy lying to your face). But... they do pay on time (most of the time), they're good about compensating you for your visa expenses, they pay reasonably well, I've heard that they have changed their position on allowing teachers to keep their passports and get multiple exit visas so that's good, and... if you can put up with all the bullshit (expect a ton) and figure out the system of how things work... you can last there pretty much indefinitely. Even some truly awful teachers have finished out 2 years.
fyi the most senior Western teacher at the school has only been with them for 3 years. Most do not last for very long. Like I said... you have to be willing to put up with a ton of bullshit. If you can do that, they are not the worst employer in Saudi Arabia. On the other hand if you want to find a great place to work, keep looking... |
