OK. Here's the question. In another thread someone making some negative comments about one company in Oman said, "You can do better. Others are still hiring in Oman."
What I 'm wondering is this. If you have an app in with one company and it's going through the visa approval process at the MoHE, can you apply with another company in Oman?
It would seem to me that the MoHE might view dimly 2 apps arriving there for visa approval from one person but for 2 different companies. Sorry if I sound like a dimwit about this but it just doesn't seem feasible to apply to a different Omani company while you have an app with one company already going through what appears to be a long approval process.
Thanks. |

It would depend on how far along the first visa application is... and that is impossible to figure out from where we are sitting.
The reality is that if the first process is already moving through the Ministry, I can't see that you would have the time to apply, get to the interview, and then get an offer from a second place.

Your safer option is to arrive and while under probation, to try an obtain other employment. There is usually a one week notice during the probationary period for both sides. |

There's nothing stopping you from getting employment elsewhere. As another poster already stated, do it during your probationary period. The company you mentioned has a three month probationary period from the start of the contract. I'd wait for you to get approval from the Ministry of Manpower, and then go about scheduling interviews. Once you have a position nailed down. it'll be easier to transfer your visa, seeing as how you'd have been approved by the ministry already. |
